Tiger Jaw is a perennial succulent belonging to the stone plant family. Its fleshy leaves are low-growing and form clumps of star-shaped rosettes. Tiger Jaw is named for the soft, white spikes that surround its fleshy leaves, resembling the animal’s mouth. While these spikes may have a fierce look, they are actually quite soft and flexible. The function of these ‘teeth’ is to direct moisture to the roots of the plant where it can be absorbed.
The growing season for Tiger Jaw is spring through summer with a possible display of bright yellow flowers in autumn.
