Curcuma is a tropical plant with elegant summer blooms in shades of pinkish-purple. It looks great as an annual plant in garden beds but is also well suited for containers and pots. With sufficient food, water and light, expect your Curcuma plant to bloom all summer long. It requires full sun and evenly moist soil during the growing season.
The Curcuma bloom rate will slow in late summer and early autumn. As a result, it will require less water and fertilization. Be sure to bring your Curcuma plant indoors when the temperatures start to cool.
